Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.5.7 Update-Enabled Mail/iPhone Notes Syncing!

Posted by
May 13th, 2009

After a long stretch since Apple last updated Mac OS X, yesterday marks the release of their latest updated, 10.5.7.

While there are many new features, perhaps the most important to iPhone and iPod Touch users is the ability to sync ‘Notes’ between Apple’s Mail application and their iPhone 3.0 based device. (As noted by www.spaziocellulare.com at http://www.spaziocellulare.com/ispazio/en/2009/05/12/apple-solves-iphones-and-ipod-touch-dfu-mode-problem-in-mac-os-1057-and-brings-notes-sync-with-via-usb-and-itunes-82/).

I highly recommend that every Mac owner update.

Can’t Actually Download Books With Apple Kindle App – Really?

March 5th, 2009

Kindle iPhone App

It all makes sense now, why would Amazon, who would like to sell more Kindles, allow an app that fully functions as an actual Kindle? Yup, that’s right, you can transfer and read Kindle books on your iPhone or ipod touch, but connecting directly to the Kindle Store to instantly purchase the next best seller…think again. To download books, you need to open your browser on your iPhone or touch and go to Amazon.com like any other schlep downloading a book. Oh, and if you’re a newspaper or periodical reader, forget about it. The app doesn’t support those formats yet.

Ha! And you thought you had it made you thumb-scrolling, App-addicted FOOLISH consumers!

On the other hand, if you simply want to use your iPod/iPhone to read a book you’ve already downloaded and have been reading on your Kindle, the app will remember where you left off and resume at that point. Not bad as a Kindle auxiliary device that can show color, for those of you who read comic books on your Kindle in beautiful shades of gray. Frank Miller rejoice!

Here’s a nice Kindle App review for your ganderization: Comparing Kindle 2 With Kindle’s iPhone App

Bill Gates Actually Sucking Blood Out Of People

Posted by
February 5th, 2009

“‘Malaria is spread by mosquitoes!”

Unbelievable! In a non-funny attempt to prove that we Americans (the more fortunate?) can get malaria from mosquitos too, Bill Gates chose to release his little friends on an unsuspecting group of technologists at the Technology, Entertainment, Design Conference in Monterey, California.

ELECTION DAY: When a Silly Commercial Becomes Classic…. Wassup!

November 4th, 2008

Back in the year 2000, Anheuser-Busch came up with this groundbreaking commercial for Budweiser:

Today, inspired marketers came up with its political sequel:

Wow! Look at how our lives have changed in eight short years…

Cheers to the end of these past eight years, and to the coming change… one way or another…

Cheers to a bright future!

Guns N Roses Gives You a Free Dr. Pepper! Here’s how:

Posted by
October 27th, 2008

MTV reports that if you log in to the official Dr. Pepper website on November 23rd, you’ll be mailed a coupon for a free 20-ounce Dr. Pepper. But note, ONLY on the 23rd.

Why are they doing it? As MTV reports:

“Now that the November 23 release date for Guns Nâ?? Rosesâ?? oft-delayed, more-than-a-decade-in-the-making album, Chinese Democracy, seems to be a reality, Dr Pepper owes every American a can of soda.

Back in March, the beverage company said that it would give every man, woman, and a child in the U.S. a free can of Dr. Pepper should Guns Nâ?? Roses release Chinese Democracy before the close of 2008. And now, the event no one â?? certainly not the folks at Dr Pepper â?? thought would happen is rapidly approaching.”
